Avidyne Entegra Integrated Flight Displays (IFDs) With dual-redundant peer-to-peer databus
Avidyne®'s Entegra™ release 9 flight-deck systems feature dual, triple, or quad Integrated Flight Displays (IFD), the first large-format LED-backlit displays to be truly interchangeable as PFDs or MFDs. Integrated flight deck systems are standard equipment on transport and high-end business aircraft, but not always in general aviation, due to cost and weight. Avidyne's goal is to bring the features and reliability of larger air-transport flight decks to general-aviation installations (high-performance singles, piston twins, turboprops, and light jets).
Avidyne® selected LynxOS®-178 as the real-time operating system (RTOS) for Entegra release 9 because of its unmatched combination of features and advantages. Specifically: ARINC 653 partitioning, which allows integration of DO-178 level B applications next to level D applications on the same machine; the POSIX® API; a software tool chain based on industry standards; and an artifact package that now even includes an RSC (Reusable Software Component) to significantly reduce the burden of product certification."
