Viking Power Plant Control RoomTurboNet Dash 1 real-time control system for power generators
The Viking Power Plant by Turbine Diagnostic Services Inc. (TDS) is a modular radial-flow gas-turbine power plant that consists of four turbine containers and inlet containers, an electrical services container, and a control room container. The digital programmable TurboNet Dash 1® control system from TDS resides at the heart of the Viking Power Plant's control room.
The LynxOS® real-time operating system provides continuous and reliable operational processing and communications in Viking Power's TurboNet Dash 1 control system. The control system is built on a Linux® platform that is designed to allow for remote operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and programming via internet access with password protection. LynxOS was chosen as the control operating system because of its Linux compatibility and because it provides the hard real-time functionality that is required by mission-critical defense, aerospace and industrial applications, such as the Viking Power Plant.
