GE/Marquette Solar 9500 Real-time Patient Monitor
Real-time patient information for critical health care

The Solar® 9500 patient monitor provides vital signs monitoring and information management in critical care and anesthesia. The system provides eight invasive blood-pressure supports and the ability to display 30 waveforms via its 32-bit graphics board. Solar 9500 can interface with dozens of other devices and can connect to the hospital information network through a Web browser. Wireless networking is available for cases where traditional hard-wired Ethernet is not practical. Temperature-correction algorithms ensure accurate cardiac outputs during times of temperature fluctuation. A configuration program allows users to personalize the display layout on the system's pressure-sensitive touch screen according to their needs and preferences.

The Solar 9500 utilizes the LynxOS® RTOS (real-time operating system) to guarantee multi-tasking efficiency without compromising mission-critical, real-time data functions. The system's main processor is an Intel® 233 MHz Pentium® with MMX technology. LynxOS' patented technology easily prioritizes tasks so that system's functions—such as the sounding of alarms, QRS tones and waveform drawing—are unaffected by other tasks. LynxOS' compatibility with off-the-shelf communications software maximizes the Solar 9500's connectivity with other GE Medical Systems products.
