GENIE Acquisition, by Tactiq Ltd., is the operator interface used in many of GE Healthcare's popular Nuclear Medicine (NM) imaging systems, such as GE Healthcare's "MG." GENIE Acquisition controls the NM scanner system and provides a GUI for scan set-up, image review and network image transfer. GENIE Acquisition has shipped with thousands of GE Healthcare NM units since its introduction in 1996.

GENIE Acquisition runs on the LynxOS® real-time operating system on an off-the-shelf PC platform. GENIE Acquisition processes radiation data from a gamma-sensitive camera and provides image processing, archiving and network features. Real-time computing on LynxOS allows complex scan types that require precise real-time patient positioning with respect to the camera, in addition to synchronization of image formation and physiological processes.
