LynuxWorks Separation Kernel wins Intel Embedded Alliance Software Innovations Award

Intel® Embedded Alliance recognizes LynxSecure for utilizing Intel's virtualization technology and allowing developers to fully leverage the power of multicore architecture

SAN JOSÉ, CA-April 26, 2010—LynuxWorks™, Inc., a world leader in the secure embedded software market, is proud to announce that its LynxSecure product won the 2009 Software Innovations Award granted by the Intel Embedded Alliance. The award was presented at the Intel Embedded Alliance Worldwide Business Connection Awards dinner on March 16, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A long-time member of the Intel Embedded Alliance, LynuxWorks received the award for its development and marketing of the LynxSecure separation kernel and embedded hypervisor, which enables the execution of guest operating systems and applications in their own secure partitions. This innovative product also won the prestigious Security Category at the 2009 Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Innovation Awards in London.

When running on Intel's multicore processors, LynxSecure provides state-of-the-art software virtualization technology that makes it possible to securely host, in parallel, both embedded operating systems and unmodified desktop operating systems on a single platform.

"The award recognizes LynuxWorks' commitment to innovation and its leadership in creating cutting edge technology that maximizes the benefits of the Intel Architecture to provide solutions for a great variety of applications," noted Robert Day, vice president of marketing, LynuxWorks. "We are pleased that Intel has recognized the efforts of our LynxSecure team in delivering and evangelizing secure virtualization technologies."
