LynuxWorks Brings Virtualization Techniques to Medical Device Developers

Medical conference workshop focuses on software and hardware virtualization, bringing security and increased functionality to the next generation of medical devices

12TH SOFTWARE DESIGN FOR MEDICAL DEVICES—PHILADELPHIA, April 27, 2009—LynuxWorks™, Inc., a world leader in embedded software, today announced that the company will present an educational workshop on both software and hardware virtualization techniques at the 12th Software Design for Medical Devices conference on April 27 at the Hub Cira Center Diesel room in Philadelphia.

At the workshop, LynuxWorks will give attendees an "under-the-hood" look at their LynxSecure separation kernel and embedded hypervisor, explain how the technology works, and demonstrate how it can help consolidate both hardware and software for multiple modes on a single system. In addition, LynuxWorks will discuss how an embedded hypervisor allows developers to easily migrate software applications to next-generation hardware, at the same time adding security functionality required for connected devices.

The workshop will also touch on hardware techniques for efficient software virtualization and how implementing a virtualized platform today increases productivity and provides cost reductions in both the short- and long-term. This will show how a mixed software environment with multiple operating systems, real-time and traditional IT, can be combined securely on a single piece of hardware, and demonstrating how this functionality is available today.

When: Monday, April 27, 2009- Philadelphia
Time: 10:45 a.m. – 1:45 p.m.
