SAN JOSÉ, Calif., March 15, 2006— LynuxWorks™, a world leader in the embedded software market, was honored on Tuesday by Mayor Ron Gonzalez, together with the San José City Council and Councilmember Forrest Williams, for the company's technology leadership and contributions to the local economy in the Silicon Valley. Accepting the commendation on behalf of LynuxWorks at today's city council meeting were Dr. Inder Singh, CEO and president, Gurjot Singh, COO and vice president of engineering, and Robert Day, vice president of marketing.

For more than 18 years LynuxWorks has been the leading technology pioneer in embedded operating systems, software development products and consulting services for many of the world's most successful communications, aerospace/defense, and consumer products companies. LynuxWorks continues to win major government projects for the US Army and Navy, including Future Combat Systems (FCS), the military's largest and most ambitious technology program to date. As a result, LynuxWorks is developing next-generation products and services that will create exciting career opportunities in the Silicon Valley.

In addition, LynuxWorks has been a valued strategic technology partner with the top hardware and software companies, many of which are based in the heart of Silicon Valley. For example, as part of a separate announcement today, LynuxWorks announced that it has joined the Xilinx Alliance Program. Located within just a 10 mile radius of each other in the heart of Silicon Valley, LynuxWorks and Xilinx are working together to offer comprehensive hardware/software embedded solutions that deliver greater power, performance and flexibility.

Mayor Ron Gonzalez and the city council presented LynuxWorks with a commendation for its achievements and valuable contributions not only in helping to make the Silicon Valley the global leader in technology innovation, but also playing a pivotal role in helping to attract new engineering talent to the Silicon Valley and creating job opportunities for San José and its residents.

"LynuxWorks remains a technology leader at the heart of the embedded systems revolution exemplifying the entrepreneurial spirit of Silicon Valley," said Mayor Gonzalez. "LynuxWorks is a pioneer and global leader in the embedded software market developing new products to meet the increasing standards for homeland security, as well as technology to protect our troops and sensitive computer systems around the world. We hereby recognize and commend LynuxWorks as an outstanding contributor to the San José economy, and we congratulate CEO and Chairman Dr. Inder Singh, management, and employees of LynuxWorks for their achievements and thank the company for their commitment to innovation and advancing the entrepreneurial spirit in the Capital of Silicon Valley."

"We are extremely honored and thankful to be recognized by the city council, Forrest Williams and Mayor Gonzalez amidst all of the many other technology companies in the Silicon Valley," said Dr. Inder Singh, CEO and Chairman of LynuxWorks. "We take great pride in being a valuable contributor to the local economy and doing our part to ensure that our Silicon Valley remains the global epicenter of technology innovation.
