It takes a mix of standards-based technologies with complementary strengths to meet the stringent requirements the military faces
SAN JOSÉ, Calif., April 24, 2006—The standards leaders, Real-Time Innovations, Inc. (RTI), Motorola, LynuxWorks™ and Arrow Electronics are offering a unique seminar series on the US Navy Open Architecture (OA). The Navy OA is a systems design approach supported by verifiable governmental testing platforms, such as the Open Architecture Computing Environment (OACE) Category 3 compliant, that seeks to implement open specifications for interfaces, services and supporting formats.
The Navy OA enables software components to work across a range of systems and interoperate with other software components on local and remote systems. As part of the client/server architecture, a single repository of all naval configuration and logistics data from around the world is available for querying. The status of a given piece of equipment on a ship determines what and how many spare parts will be stored on that ship for it, making this tracking extremely important in terms of cost, shipboard space and weight, and the operational availability of the ship.
This free half-day seminar will include discussions on how the Navy OA can fulfill military demands for:
