LynuxWorks Appoints Gurjot Singh to Chief Operating Officer and Mark Baker to Vice President of Sales

Industry veterans appointed to strategic roles as embedded software leader positions itself for aggressive momentum and ambitious growth plans for 2005

SAN JOSÉ, Calif., May 2, 2005—LynuxWorks™ Inc. today announced the appointments of Gurjot Singh to chief operating officer (COO) and Mark Baker to vice president of sales.

Gurjot Singh will assume the title of COO as well as remain in his current position as vice president of engineering. In his new role of COO, Singh will be responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of LynuxWorks' business operations to drive the company to meet its dynamic business objectives. In addition, Mr. Singh will continue to be involved with post-sales support, including training and consulting, manufacturing, and quality assurance.

For more than 14 years at LynuxWorks, Mr. Singh has played a strategic role in advancing LynuxWorks as a pioneer in the embedded software industry, including creating LynuxWorks' services organization which has grown to provide half of the company's total revenue. In addition, Mr. Singh has also been instrumental in establishing LynuxWorks' quality management system to achieve ISO 9001 and DO-178B compliance.

Mark Baker joins LynuxWorks' distinguished executive management team as vice president of sales. Mr. Baker brings to LynuxWorks more than 20 years of experience in sales management within the embedded systems market. In his new position, Mr. Baker will be responsible for leading the sales team to achieve aggressive sales growth and play a key role in connecting customer technology and business requirements with the LynuxWorks' strategy.

Previously, Mr. Baker was vice president of worldwide sales for Wasabi Systems where he assembled and led a global sales organization which resulted in the company's first customer design wins. Prior to that, Mr. Baker was vice president of strategic accounts for Wind River where he drove sales revenues and account strategies for the company's 30 largest accounts. Mr. Baker was also the vice president of worldwide sales for Motorola Computer Group were he led a worldwide organization of 275 employees and revenues of more than $750 million.
