ISSAQUAH, WA—June 21, 2004—With McObject's release of its eXtremeDB 2.3 in-memory embedded database for LynuxWorks'™ BlueCat® Linux® 5.0 operating system, developers of embedded Linux applications for the first time have an in-memory database system (IMDS) available for LynuxWorks' powerful embedded platform, and for the Linux 2.6 kernel on which BlueCat Linux 5.0 is based.

eXtremeDB 2.3 for BlueCat Linux 5.0, available immediately, offers an off-the-shelf solution to embedded Linux systems' growing need to manage larger volumes of more complex data. As an in-memory database, eXtremeDB eliminates disk I/O, caching and related overhead—delivering the kind of instant responsiveness demanded in key target markets such as communications, military and aerospace.
