LynxOS and LynxOS-178 to Offer Support for IBM Rational's new Apex 4.4.0 Ada Development Environment

Real-time Ada development tools designed to provide stringent reliability and hard real-time requirements for military and avionics industries

SAN JOSÉ, Calif., December 28, 2004—LynuxWorks™ Inc. today announced support for the newly released version of the IBM Rational® Ada programming environment, Apex 4.4.0, with its LynxOS® real-time operating system (RTOS) and LynxOS-178, a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) operating system that delivers the security and real-time responsiveness needed for safety-critical systems.

The new Rational Apex development environment for real-time, embedded Ada language applications was created to meet the stringent reliability requirements of developers in the military and avionics industries. The development environment features an extensive family of production-quality Ada compilers, cross-compilers, and related tools to allow programmers to debug, understand, tune, and deliver code. The new Apex 4.4.0 release represents state-of-the-art innovation in Ada performance, functionality, and development environments.
