At the 2004 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nev., January 8-11, LynuxWorks™ is introducing two new customers and their consumer electronics products utilizing LynuxWorks' BlueCat® embedded Linux®. LynuxWorks' embedded operating system is powering a new virtual reality technology used in the entertainment and video gaming industry and supporting the next-generation of MPEG-4 technology for fast transfer of video in cameras, cell phones, PDAs, and other consumer electronic devices.
LynuxWorks is also headlining two knowledge sessions sponsored by the Embedded Linux Consortium (ELC). Arun Subbarao, director of software engineering at LynuxWorks, is participating in the panel, "Real-Time Linux," discussing a variety of approaches to hard and soft real-time guarantees in Linux, pre-emptive Linux kernels and the best tools and techniques to ensure real-time performance with Linux. Also, Dr. Inder Singh, president and CEO of LynuxWorks, is participating in a panel titled, "Linux Goes to Market: Designing Successful Embedded Linux Products," which was specially created for manufacturers and engineers to analyze the leading factors for employing embedded Linux as a consumer product operating system. During this panel, case studies of embedded Linux-based consumer devices will be presented.
