LynuxWorks' LynxOS now Available for SBS PowerPC and Intel X86 Boards

Company continues to gain design wins in key military and aerospace markets (SBS Technologies is now part of GE Fanuc)

SAN JOSÉ, Calif., August 8, 2002—LynuxWorks™, Inc., and SBS Technologies, Inc. today announced the availability of LynuxWorks' real-time operating system (RTOS), LynxOS®, for SBS' PowerPC® and Intel® X86 board product lines. SBS Technologies, Inc. is one of the world's leading suppliers of embedded processor boards, marketed to a diverse range of industries, including telecommunications, military, aerospace and industrial automation.

The combined LynxOS and SBS boards will be used for commercial-, industrial-, and military-grade applications. SBS developed the LynxOS ports and will make the board support packages available to customers. LynuxWorks has a long history of technology leadership, and LynxOS has been a popular choice among embedded developers for more than thirteen years. Known for its hard real-time response, stability, advanced networking capabilities, and open standard interfaces, LynxOS provides the full determinism and reliability necessary for mission-critical and real-time embedded applications. In the high-performance RTOS world, LynxOS is unique in offering its users the Linux processing model, POSIX® conformance, and open, standard application programming interfaces (APIs).

"Throughout the military and aerospace industry, customers are requesting LynxOS," said Clarence Peckham, president of SBS Technologies' Commercial and Government Groups. "We made the strategic investment to support LynxOS in our product lines so our customers will have the design and development advantages they prefer."

"We value the commitment made by SBS and look forward to working closely with them to ensure that our mutual customers have the most robust embedded solutions available," said Greg Rose, director of product management at LynuxWorks.
