Applied Microsystems and LynuxWorks Announce CodeTEST 3.5 for LynxOS RTOS

Application developers gain new toolset for hard real-time products

REDMOND, Wash.—January 23, 2002—Applied Microsystems Corp. (NASDAQ: APMC) today announced the availability of its industry-leading test and analysis tool suite, CodeTEST®, for LynuxWorks' hard real-time operating system, LynxOS®. The new CodeTEST for LynxOS, together with the LynxOS operating system, offers a robust development platform for application developers and QA teams who create and test demanding hard real-time products for market segments such as avionics, military, telecommunications and data communications.

"We are pleased to have the CodeTEST visibility and analysis tool suite available for our customers developing with LynxOS. With the integration of LynxOS and CodeTEST, we will provide added value to our customers at the high-end of the embedded market where customers are working with very critical performance and reliability requirements. CodeTEST offers a comprehensive performance, coverage, memory, and trace execution toolset to test and analyze these critical embedded systems and provides valuable information for embedded developers and QA teams wishing to maximize performance," said Bob Morris, vice president of sales and marketing for LynuxWorks. "This capability is meaningful for mission-critical applications where developers are required to analyze and test every line of code."

Applied's vice president of sales and marketing, Mark Budzinski said, "It is a natural step for us to embrace these growing market sectors. Our products meet the highest industry standards for business and mission-critical applications, including the FAA's DO-178B guidelines."

CodeTEST version 3.5 represents a new level of unparalleled visibility into the most complex of today's real-time embedded systems. It provides clear analysis of how a system can be improved, identifying everything from memory leaks and errors to issues hindering better system performance. CodeTEST 3.5 includes several exciting new advancements, including: Point to Point Timers™, data profiling for uncharted parent/child functions, ISR performance impact measurements, and scripting capabilities to automate repetitive tests.
