Value-added support and enhanced tools offer developers complete solutions
Embedded Linux

SAN JOSÉ, Calif.—September 4, 2001—LynuxWorks™ Inc., a provider of open-source and true real-time embedded solutions for the post-PC era, today announced a new series of bundle options to include service and support with enhanced tools for its popular BlueCat® Linux® operating system platform. With a strong reputation for the industry's best support and leveraging an ever-increasing advanced tool set, LynuxWorks aims to offer product and system engineers the greatest flexibility in choosing the most comprehensive and cost-effective solutions available to meet their immediate product and system design needs. Several options are immediately available.

"As embedded Linux grows in preference over other embedded operating systems, and as our own BlueCat distribution continues to gain a larger following, LynuxWorks has been listening to our customers needs," said Dr. Inder Singh, LynuxWorks CEO. "Customers have asked for more functionality, more enhanced tools and complete solutions. Our new bundle options address these needs and offer greater value to our customers by combining the very best of what we do into developer solutions. The bundles will help companies reduce time to market for new commercial products and system designs."

At the core of the bundle options is LynuxWorks BlueCat Linux 3.1. With the industry's broadest microprocessor support for embedded Linux, BlueCat supports architectures including Intel® IA-32 and XScale™ micro-architecture, MIPS, ARM® family (including Thumb® extensions), StrongARM®, PowerPC® (including PowerQUICC) and Hitachi SuperH. Developers for next generation smart devices, communications equipment and consumer products have increasingly chosen BlueCat for its stability, reliability, time-to-market benefits and overall reduced total cost of ownership.

Bundle offerings will include the BlueCat Standard, Professional Trace Bundle, Professional IDE Bundle, and Developer's Bundle. Bundles are available for numerous host/target processor combinations. All bundles include basic support with optional upgradeable tiered and priority level support packages. Quantity price discounts are available.
