Lynx Names Former Unisys and Harris Executive to VP of Engineering

Rajiv Sinha will focus on Java/Internet support, product scalability

SAN JOSÉ, Calif., February 24, 1997—Lynx Real-Time Systems, Inc. today announced that it has named a former Unisys and Harris executive, Rajiv Sinha, to the position of vice president of engineering. Overseeing all product development for Lynx, Rajiv will focus on keeping Lynx at the technological forefront of the real-time operating systems marketplace by developing Java™/Internet support and scalable products.

"Rajiv's depth of understanding in a variety of system sizes and platforms will help Lynx keep its leadership position in scaleable, open, operating system solutions for embedded applications" said Lynx's President William A. Hogan. Additionally, his strong technical and management experience will help the company continue developing the most cutting-edge features, like Java and Internet support. In his new position, Rajiv reports directly to Hogan.

Rajiv joins Lynx Real Time Systems Inc. with more than 20 years of engineering, marketing, and strategic planning experience in computer systems and information technology. Rajiv also has 15 years of development management experience, including responsibility for teams in excess of 100 people.

Rajiv came to Lynx from Unisys, where he was a director of technology planning. During his 6-year tenure at Unisys, he was responsible for developing a microkernel-based distributed operating system, product marketing for a massively parallel processing system, and information services/consulting for decision support and data warehousing. Before that, he worked at Harris Computer Systems for 14 years and was responsible for all software for the Night Hawk system, the first multi-processor real-time UNIX® system in the aerospace industry.

Rajiv earned a master's degree in computer science from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology. He holds a patent in computer architecture for a fast cache flush mechanism. Rajiv, 44, lives with his wife and two children in San José, Calif.
