SAN JOSÉ, Calif., May 22, 1996—With high expectations for continued growth, Lynx Real-Time Systems, Inc. promoted its Chief Operating Officer William A. (Bill) Hogan to the post of President, the company announced today.
Announcing the appointment, Dr. Inder M. Singh, President of Lynx since 1988, indicated that he will continue to play an active role in the company as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman.
Hogan, a former TRW and Harris executive, set the company's 1996 revenue growth goal at 50 percent with a continued aggressive push in the communications industry. Lynx makes and sells operating systems software, chiefly for industry in communications, medical, and aerospace markets. The privately-held company achieved record profit and revenue levels in six of its last seven quarters.
"The appointment of Bill to President signals a new phase for Lynx", said Singh. "Having produced exceptional product offerings, a solid customer base, and financial stability, we now turn toward rapid expansion."

The appointment comes on the heels of Lynx's recent announcements of customer wins with Lucent Technologies and Xerox Corp., a critical patent award, and a new version of the company's chief product, LynxOS 2.4 operating system.
Hogan joined Lynx in 1995 with more than 20 years of engineering and high-technology marketing experience. Most recently, he was Vice-President and General Manager of TRW's Business Intelligence Systems, which he founded. Previously, Hogan was Vice-President and General Manager for MasPar Computer Corp. In the past, Hogan held senior management positions at Convex Computers (now HP/Convex) and Harris Corp., and was dean of engineering technology and chair of the mathematics and physics department at the Florida Institute of Technology.
He has published 37 marketing and technological papers, given keynote speeches at industry conferences in Japan, Korea, Italy, Germany and in the United States, and served on the advisory boards of IBM, Mosaic MultiSoft, One Voice Corp., KDS, RCI, and the International Technological University. Hogan holds a Ph.D. in computational physics jointly from the University of Miami and Walden University Institute of Advanced Studies. He earned MS and BS degrees from Florida Atlantic University. Hogan, 49, lives with his wife and two children in San José, California.
