Lynx Appoints Former TRW V.P. as new Chief Operating Officer Software maker expands management team to handle growth and new business development

SAN JOSÉ, Calif.—October 2, 1995—Lynx Real-Time Systems, Inc. a supplier of real-time operating systems for embedded computers, today announced an expansion of its key management team with the appointment of William A. "Bill" Hogan as chief operating officer.

Hogan joins the company in this newly created position with over 20 years of engineering and technology marketing experience. He was most recently vice president, general manager of TRW's Business Intelligence Systems, Sunnyvale, CA., where he oversaw their conversion from defense technology to commercial business.

"Bill comes to Lynx with a breadth of valuable experience in high technology marketing, sales and operations," said Inder Singh, president, CEO. "He will provide greater depth to the management team, necessary for our next phase of growth. His background will be an asset in day-to-day company operations as well as strategic business and product planning." Prior to his TRW position, Hogan consulted to IBM on product development and market planning in the fast-growth, parallel computing sector. Before that he was vice president, general manager of MasPar Computer Corporation, Sunnyvale, CA where he launched worldwide marketing and managed the Digital Equipment Corporation joint venture.

Prior to MasPar, Hogan was the director of industry marketing for Convex Computer Corp, the market leader in mini-supercomputers. Earlier he was with Harris Corp. where he began in software engineering management and ended as director of engineering, scientific and academic marketing. He also served as the dean of Engineering Sciences and chairman of the Mathematics and Physics departments at Florida Institute of Technology.

Hogan holds a Ph.D in computational physics jointly from the University of Miami and Walden University. He also holds M.S. and B.S. degrees in physics from Florida Atlantic University. He is the author of over two dozen papers and articles on information processing, supercomputing and physics.

Inder Singh, Lynx president and CEO, remains in an active role.
