Spam Filters and Bounced E-Mail

Companies such as LynuxWorks™ use filters to protect their e-mail systems and their employees from being flooded with "spam" (unsolicited e-mail).

Anti-spam filtering may cause your e-mail message to be rejected based on its origin or the content of the message.

Occasionally, a non-spam e-mail will look enough like spam that our system rejects it, even though it isn't spam.

What can I do?

If you think that your mail server has been blacklisted, contact the person responsible for that machine. This means that if you are sending e-mail from your company or organization, contact someone in your IT department for help. If you are using a personal or home e-mail account, you should contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

In the meantime, try the steps below to resolve your problem:

• Try changing the subject line of your e-mail, or recomposing the message using different words and punctuation, or paragraph breaks.
• Try sending your message from a different account, or from a web-mail account like Hotmail or Yahoo!
• If you find that your e-mail gets blocked often, you might prefer to change your ISP (Internet Service Provider). Some ISPs are known for being nice to spammers and therefore they get blacklisted often.
