The Thales VMPC6c, with single or dual processors (BSPs may differ), is part of the PowerEngine6 family of ruggedized SBCs that provide a wide range of uses for industrial, military, and aerospace environments.

Like many Thales SBCs it incorporates ASIC design, Avignon (Chip CPC710) for host bridge control, plus dedicated control of interrupts and real-time functions. It can also be supported with a wide range of PCI Mezzanine cards (PMCs) with corresponding drivers to handle graphics, communications, high-speed networking, data acquisition functions, and more.

• Choice of single or dual PowerPC® 7410 G4 processors, with AltiVec™ vector processing unit ideally suited for signal processing functions and leading-edge computing applications
• Clock frequency of 400MHz and higher
• 730Mips @ 400MHz per processor
• Option of 64, 128, 256, 512MB on-board memory
• Includes 2MB cache memory per processor, on processor-dedicated bus
• Includes 512KB + 1MB system flash memory and up to 32MB user flash memory
• Avignon host bridge incorporates double-bank SDRAM memory with ECC, supports dual processor with 100 and 133MHz PowerPC bus, and manages two PCI busses
• COBRA dedicated control of interrupts and real-time functions eases the development of real-time applications and the control of complex I/Os
• Available in four levels of ruggedization—standard, extended, air convection cooled, and conduction cooled for environments up to 85°C
• Includes Ethernet interface, SCSI interface, and two available RS-232 serial ports up to 115.2Kb/s
