The 64D2 from North Atlantic Industries is a single-slot, 6U VME multifunction communications and discrete I/O board. The enhanced motherboard can accommodate three independent function-specific modules.

This unique board eliminates the need for specialized, single-function cards required for system integration by providing a combination of communication and digital I/O functions on one single card. The multifunction design provides higher functional density, resulting in:

• Reduced overall card count
• Lower power consumption
• Higher reliability
• Lower overall system cost

The 64D2 VME Multifunction Board can be controlled via Ethernet as well as by VMEbus. Automatic background BIT testing, an important feature, is always enabled and continually checks the health of each channel without the need to shut down the equipment for troubleshooting. The 64D2 is ideally suited for rugged military, industrial and commercial programs, including airborne, shipboard, ground-based systems.
