The 64C2 from North Atlantic Industries is a single-slot, 6U VME multifunction I/O and serial communications board. The enhanced motherboard can accommodate six independent function-specific modules, and can be controlled via Ethernet as well as by VMEbus.

The single-board solution of the 64C2 Multifunction I/O Board allows the user to mix-and-match a variety of function modules, such as Discrete I/O, Synchro/Resolver-to-Digital and LVDT. This unique design eliminates the need for specialized single function cards. Multifunction I/O boards provide higher functional density, resulting in:

• Reduced overall card count
• Lower power consumption
• Higher reliability
• Lower overall system cost

Additional enhancements include FIFO data buffering for A/D, D/A, Synchro/Resolver-to-Digital and LVDT functions. The VME Multifunction I/O Board features automatic background BIT testing, providing extensive diagnostics. The 64C2 is ideally suited for rugged military, industrial and commercial programs, including airborne, shipboard, ground-based systems. Air- or conduction-cooled, extended operating temperature range and conformal coating options are available.
