The OMAP35x EVM from Mistral is a low-cost and easy-to-use development platform based on TI's OMAP35x multimedia applications processor. Designed with a modular and extendable architecture, the OMAP35x EVM helps developers leverage the benefits of the powerful OMAP35x processor comprising of advanced Superscalar ARM® Cortex™-A8 RISC core with NEON co-processing, IVA2.2 subsystem with a C64x+ digital signal processor (DSP) core and SGX subsystem for 2D and 3D graphics acceleration.
The OMAP35x EVM is an ideal software development and device prototyping platform for users to get started on their wireless/multimedia-based application and device development. A key feature is support for multiple display outputs like VGA LCD, DVI, S-Video and Composite-Video.
The OMAP35x EVM helps product developers building their next generation wireless devices around the OMAP35x enjoy the benefits of faster user interfaces, faster data access and multi-standard encode/decode at D1 (720x480 pixels) 30 fps.
The WLAN1271 Wireless Connectivity Card for OMAP3 EVM from Mistral that is included in the OMAPEVM Package/box can be connected to the Expansion Connector of the OMAPEVM. This Wireless Connectivity Card is a WLAN (IEEE802.11b/g/n) and Bluetooth® 2.1+EDR single-chip (combo) low power add-on card, based on the LS Research module with Texas Instruments WL1271 device bundled with a comprehensive software package for Linux 2.6x kernel. WL1271 is part of TI's WiLink™ 6.0 product family.
The OMAP35x EVM comes with pre-programmed binaries for X-Loader, U-Boot, Linux Kernel and JFFS2 File system for Linux. The PSP Software Release from TI includes the Code Sourcery tool chain and the required source code and utilities. It is an ideal platform for users to develop their applications.
