The Kontron VMPC6d single-board computer (SBC) features the high-speed combination of a 500 MHz PowerPC® 7410 (G4) processor with the Avignon host bridge.

The VMPC6d is available in single or dual processor configurations (BSPs may differ) and delivers unprecedented computing power to enable real-time processing of the most demanding data streams. The VMPC6d is intended for high-performance data and signal processing applications, including sonar, radar, medical imaging and machine vision systems, especially in harsh or demanding environments.

The VMPC6d SBC provides 33% more memory bandwidth, due to the speed of the memory running 8-byte burst transfers at 133 MHz, and lower power dissipation, all at a very competitive price. This outstanding processor/memory throughput provides the ability to fully exploit the maximum computing capabilities of the G4/AltiVec. The VMPC6d is also completely compatible with the earlier board, providing a user-friendly migration pathway.
