The DSP230 system blade from GE Fanuc set the standard for deployed COTS multiprocessors aimed at rugged defence and aerospace applications. DSP230 is the worlds first 0.8 inch pitch quad 8641D solution providing unrivalled system densities as a standalone card or as part of an integrated AXIS multicomputer.
Layered software support means applications can move away from proprietary operating system to a true COTS platform with planned technology insertion over the entire platform life cycle. Built-In-Test (BIT) for PowerPC is suppliedby the board manufacturer. Part of our new 6U VPX product family, DSP230 offers scalability from 4 to 80 PowerPC AltiVec nodes per enclosure.
High-speed data movement between I/O and processor nodes is simple to implement using the AXISFlow Inter Processor Communication (IPC) module. AXISFlow leverages the DSP230 message passing acceletator architecture with both Serial RapidIO and PCIe between all nodes and system I/O as well as Gigabit Ethernet connectivity to the network.
