The Dell™ PowerEdge 1750 is a high-performance, highly available, highly manageable, rack-dense dual-processor 1U general-purpose (GP) server ideally suited for edge-of-network, infrastructure, compute clustering, and thin client/server-based computing environments.
The Dell™ PowerEdge™ 1750 replaces the popular PowerEdge 1650 with higher levels of performance delivered by Intel® Xeon™ processors and 266MHz DDR SDRAM memory while maintaining the same high levels of availability and expandability.
The PowerEdge™ 1750 is designed to address the needs of compute cluster (HPCC) environments, enterprise data center customers, and Internet and application service providers (ISPs/ASPs) seeking to maximize performance, availability, and manageability in a rack-dense 1U form factor.
The PowerEdge 1750 delivers exceptional levels of performance, availability, expandability, and manageability in a 1U form factor with the following features: dual Xeon™ processors, dual PCI-X slots, hot-plug redundant power (optional), dual integrated Gigabit NICs, dual-channel RAID on motherboard (ROMB) option with battery-backed cache, optional embedded remote management capability, up to three hot-pluggable 1-inch SCSI hard drives, and up to 8GB of RAM.
Additionally, the hot-plug redundant power option, combined with dual channel ROMB with battery-backed cache, dual 64-bit/133MHz PCI-X slots, and dual embedded Gigabit NICs, make the PowerEdge 1750 attractive for the following:
The PowerEdge 1750's dual-channel embedded RAID solution with battery-backed cache improves hard drive performance without consuming a PCI slot. Dell was the first of the major system providers to incorporate these features in a 1U form factor.
The PowerEdge 1750 supports the Embedded Remote Access Option (ERA/O), allowing for remote management, including dead server management. Additionally, ERA/O supports remote graphical console redirection, SSL security for remote access GUI, and IPMI standard compliant base management.
Finally, the PowerEdge 1750 supports up to three internal SCSI hard drives for the maximum expandability in a 1U server.
